CRIMINAL HOPE

Do you want to know about the people on the frontlines in the war against migration? To hear from the people directly affected by fascist border policies in Europe?

From Sudan to Libya to Europe through their own words: and what happens when they arrive here seeking safety.

Since last September I’ve gone to several of the trials in Crete to see firsthand what goes on there. Witnessing injustice at the EU’s border and reporting on the violence of the courts.

CRIMINAL HOPE is recorded over a year of attending the trials of young Sudanese men unjustly accused of smuggling.

In the documentary I talk to the young men who’ve been accused of smuggling. They document, in their own words, the reasons they left Sudan, their experiences in Libya, crossing to Europe, and what happened to them when they landed somewhere they thought was going to be safe.

Criminal Hope charts how a grassroots group – 50outofmany – began to support these young men, and how the campaign against the criminalisation of migrants develops over a year, particularly attending and monitoring trials in Crete.

But I need your help to make this happen. It takes a lot of time to edit and produce an audio documentary.

If you can help I set up a Ko-Fi account here.

Thanks to everyone who’s supported me so far, I really appreciate your help.

The people directly...
